Patio Door & Slider Screen Cleaning: A Phoenix Homeowner's Guide

Every Phoenix home has that one patio slider screen that sticks, sags, and looks grey. It's the most-used screen in the house and the least likely to have ever been properly cleaned.

Patio Door & Slider Screen Cleaning: A Phoenix Homeowner's Guide

Why door screens are the worst off

Door screens get hands, pets, wind-blown grit, and constant sliding. Dust that lands on a window screen just sits there; dust on a door screen gets ground into the mesh every time the door moves.

Mesh, frame, and track

A proper door screen cleaning is three jobs, not one:

  • Mesh: washed on both sides with a soft brush, including the bottom edge where grit collects.
  • Frame: wiped down, corners included, and pet-tough or patched sections handled carefully.
  • Track: vacuumed and wiped so the roller wheels stop grinding — this is what makes a sticking door glide again.

Security and retractable screens

Security door screens and retractable screens are cleaned in place. We don't remove hardware or disturb the retraction mechanism — those systems are easy to throw out of alignment and expensive to fix.

Keeping them gliding

  • Vacuum the track monthly during dust-storm season.
  • Never lift a slider screen by the mesh — always the frame.
  • Have door screens cleaned with your whole-home visit; they add only a few minutes each.

Add your patio door screens to your next cleaning.

Frequently asked questions

Do you clean Arcadia door screens?

Yes — sliders, Arcadia doors, security doors, and retractable screens are all standard work for us.

Can you fix a door screen that sticks?

Often, yes. Most sticking doors are a packed track, which we clean as part of the service. Bent frames or bad rollers we'll flag for repair.

We have pets — will heavy-duty mesh be damaged?

No. Pet-tough mesh is common in Phoenix and we use the same soft-brush method, taking care around patched sections.

How long does a door-screens-only visit take?

Usually under an hour for a typical home.
